The 11th Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week will take place from 15 to 17 September 2026 in Izola, Slovenia.
This year’s theme, Macro-Regional Strategies in Action: What Becomes Possible, will spotlight how collaboration at the macro-regional level delivers concrete, measurable benefits for local communities.
The programme will address the major priorities shaping the regions’ future, including:
- Environmental quality, climate resilience, and risk management – responding to shared cross-border challenges through coordinated and strategic cooperation.
- EU cohesion policy as a catalyst for joint investment – enhancing alignment between EU funding instruments and national or private resources, illustrated through successful examples of Macro-Regional Strategy integration.
- EU enlargement and the inclusion of candidate countries within Macro-Regional Strategy frameworks.
- Youth participation and entrepreneurship – fostering innovation, fresh perspectives, and sustainable economic initiatives.
The event will bring together policymakers, representatives of civil society, local stakeholders, and the business community to contribute to a stronger, greener, and more interconnected Europe.
Save the date and prepare for three days filled with insightful dialogue, exchange of expertise, and practical cooperation.
